EcoWater Systems has an unrivaled five decade record, for treating water problems associated with high levels of iron, which occurs when groundwater moves through iron bearing rock formations and commonly appears in your home as rusty colored water. Residents in Schuyler’s most rural areas are likely to have already experienced rust colored staining which typically appears on sinks, toilets, bathtubs, clothing and linens as a result of the high iron content of the water.
What may not be common knowledge is that dissolved iron in your water can also contribute to the buildup of scale. This can clog your pipes and also compromise the efficiency of water using appliances. There are numerous types of iron problem, and this diversity means that the “one size fits all” systems recommended by some water treatment brands may not provide the solution to address your specific water quality issues. Many water-softening devices only eliminate “ferrous” or Fe2 forms of iron. But if iron bonds with any microorganisms that are present in the water supply, you will experience virtually no improvement in your water quality with this type of device. EcoWater Systems of Nebraska can provide a tailored solution to eliminate all forms of iron from your rural well water supply.
If there is an unpleasant rotten egg smell coming from your water, it is usually because hydrogen sulfide gas is present. This type of water issue is fairly common in the rural wells throughout the Schuyler region. Dissolved hydrogen gas in your water not only causes bad odors, but it can also create a cloudy appearance. As with any form of dissolved gas, the presence of hydrogen sulfide gas can also be aggressive on your pipes and plumbing system. This can cause excessive wear and tear on the components, including washers, seats, and valves. EcoWater Systems, Nebraska employs numerous proprietary protocols to ensure hydrogen sulfide gas is eliminated almost entirely from your water supply.
Schuyler, NE, and its surrounding rural areas are prone to nitrate water quality issues. Nitrate is a naturally occurring type of nitrogen that has the characteristic of water mobility. Nitrogen is important for plant growth, and this nutrient will often be added to the fields to improve crop productivity. But rainwater and irrigation can pass through the treated soil, allowing dissolved nitrate to be leached into the groundwater. Nitrates in drinking water can be problematic. As research shows, it inhibits the oxygen carrying capacity of red blood cells. This is particularly harmful to babies, small children and vulnerable adults. There are specialty filters that can safely eliminate nitrates from your drinking water to ensure that it not only has a great taste, but is safe for the entire family.

Schuyler is in Colfax County, NE. The city is named after former U.S. Vice President Schuyler Colfax and is the county seat of Colfax. The city covers an area of 2.67 square miles, with a population of 6,171.
Schuyler was founded when the Union Pacific Railroad reached the site in 1866. At the time, Shell Creek Station settlement occupied the site. It was renamed Schuyler in 1870 after the Union Pacific chose it as the point where cattle being driven north from Texas could be loaded onto the train. This marked Schuyler as the first “cow town” in Nebraska and created a booming economy. In a short time, the population of Schuyler rose from 100 to 600, but the boom was temporary as the 50,000 head of cattle would only pass through for one year when the cattle trail terminus was moved to Kearney.
The early residents of Schuyler were settlers from Germany, Ireland, and Czechoslovakia. The geographic position of the town enabled easier settlement, as it had an association with several historical overland routes including the Oregon and Mormon Trails and the Coast-to-Coast Lincoln Highway. Today, the packaging plant and other businesses have created jobs in the town, and Schuyler has experienced a lasting rapid demographic change.
